  • Your name:  Lee Ann King

Your teaching motto:  Make lessons relevant and they will last a lifetime.

What are three things every teacher should own?   Duct tape, super glue, a Pinterest account

Your favorite quote: “Pray, hope, and don’t worry.”  --Padre Pio

What profession other than teaching would you most like to try?  I’d like to be a park ranger at a national park.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?  Mr. Smith taught me world history.  He was so good at telling stories – the historical facts just fell into place whey you looked at it as a story.

Where are you from and where did you grow up?  I was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia.

Who is your biggest role model and why?  My mother-in-law.  She started a real estate business at age 50.  She encourages me to try new things and never give up regardless of age, etc.

What are your hobbies?  Reading, cooking, crochet

If you could live anywhere else, where would it be?  Chincoteague, Virginia – an island of the coast of Maryland/Virginia famous for the wild ponies.

What type of music do you listen to? Everything from Pop to Classical

Last book you read? Leonardo da Vinci by Walter Isaacson

Where is the best place to which you have traveled?  Berchtesgaden in Germany.  It’s a gorgeous area and has a ton of World War II history surrounding it.

Which people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party?  Thomas Jefferson to talk about politics and the future of the US; Leonardo da Vinci to discuss art and science; St. Therese of Lisieux to ask spiritual advice from and to just soak up some of her loving spirit

What is the best book you have ever read?  Such a hard question: 1984 by George Orwell, Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Do you have a favorite sport?  I love baseball.

    Your favorite movie?  Jurassic Park

What is your favorite holiday?  Why?  Easter.  I just love how amazing it feels to celebrate after Holy Week.  Also, it is the celebration of my baptism since I became Catholic in 2004.

Favorite saint or scripture story?  St. Faustina and I love the story of Ruth in the Old Testament.

What grades have you taught?  Preschool, Kindergarten, all the other grades as individual classes.
